Panther
Ever hear a Panther scream?! I have!! And believe me, you will never forget it!! It is terrifying!!! It sounds like a woman screaming for her life!
It was back in the early 50’s when it happened. Needless to say things were much different back then. We didn’t drive everywhere we wanted to go and walking a mile or so to visit the neighbors was an ordinary thing. That was were my mother and I had been that night.
We were on our way home, we had stayed a little longer than we should have and it had already gotten dark. The gravel road we were waking down had big trees on both sides and even if the moon had been shining it would have still been dark. But as I remember, there was no moon that night.
We were a little better than ¼ of a mile from the house when all a sudden I heard this blood curdling scream! I literally froze in my tracks and couldn’t move. Mom yells, “PANTHER”! Grabs me by the hand as she takes off. Running almost causes me to fall flat on my face and then, I start to run!
Life is to be shared with those around us. There are little treasures along the way everywhere you look. And even in what we consider to be bad, there is always some good somewhere, if we will but look for it.
One of the good things is this web site that our son Don has set up. It gives us an opportunity to share our lives with each other. In the coming weeks ahead, I would like to share some of my life with you. And it is my prayer that you will take the time to do the same. Take the time to share your life--with us! - Grandpa Chilson

Amie Starts School
I don’t know who was more excited with the 1st day of school approaching – Amie or Grandma! Even though attending Pre-K at Country Estates Elementary meant Grandma would have to go all week without seeing Amie and Jerdon, it had her singing the A-B-C’s and counting the goldfish swimming in their alphabet soup! After spending the week with Daddy at “Luther Farm”, Amie and Jerdon went home with Mommy so she could get ready for her very 1st day of school on August 14th, 2007.
When Grandpa and Grandma picked her and Jerdon up on Friday Amie had a handful of take home school papers and her only complaint about school was that she didn’t get to ride the Big Yellow School Bus (her Mommy only lives a couple of blocks from the school so she walks her there and back each day!)
Grandparents Day was September 7th. Grandpa and I met Amie at her house and walked with her to school that morning at 8:30. She was so excited about getting to introduce us to her teachers, Miss Nicki and Miss Joyce. She explained very pointedly that she would show us were to go! We only need to be very quite when we went in, hold her hand and let her lead the way!
Once inside her classroom she showed us around, introduced her teachers and then joined her classmates to present a short program. After the program was over the Grandparents were asked to do 3 things with their Grandchild before taking them home. First we used paint make Amie’s handprints on a plate for us. Then after reading a story to her from a book of her choice (The Emperor and the Nightingale) we all ate yummie cookies and drank lemon aide together. After saying goodbye to her teachers and her classmates Amie walked us back to her house were we picked up Jerdon and all headed back to “Luther Farm” for the weekend. - Grandma Chilson

36 Biggens!
Well, its been almost a month since I turned yet another year older and I'm just now thinking about publishing some stuff from that day. Sister said “and O what a birthday it shall be!” It was good. A day spent with the family and some friends. It was a day of reflection.

I tried to recall some of my past birthdays. It bothers me that I do not remember any of them. Yes! That’s right. Not even last years. Its weird. Perhaps I should make my own plans next year. As I seem to think everyone around me will make the plans for my celebration of being alive.

I'm thankful to have had some time with my little Amie and Jerdon on this day. They are so much fun. I tell Jj all the time how he has so much more than me. Even though, I sometimes wonder if he will ever see that.
By my next birthday I'll be married to a black woman with 6 kids!

A Family Affair!
Saturday September 15th the youngest of the Forga family was married in Choctaw. Many of their family and friends attended. Debbie got hitched to a fellow by the name of Bobby Dillon (please forgive my spelling if its wrong). Although I do not know the guy, JJ says he’s cool. JJ would also like to point out that Debbie claims him as her favorite Cousin.
The wedding was short and sweet with a reception across the street from the church. There they had some finger food, cake and punch for everyone. This occasion was special for me because I was able to see family I have not seen in years. Deanne was there with her three beautiful children Melodie, Rebecca, and Wilson (again, please forgive my spelling you all if it is wrong). After everything was over we all went back to Dad and Moms for some visiting.
After an early evening meal that Mom and Sis put together we all sat around and talked. Eventually I played outside with Amie, Jerdon, and Wilson. They prepared a pretend meal for me out of Amie’s playhouse. Hamburgers, chilly cheese fries and chicken nuggets. Very tasty stuff in a pretend kind of way! Here’s a couple video’s mixed in with all the best pictures I managed to get from the days events.
Before all left, we had a rousing game of spoons. This game requires too much concentration, but its very enthralling. I believe it was a tie between Rebecca and Steph in the end as far as how many games were won.
So, all in all the day turned out to be everything I hoped. Now, if this coming weekend is as much fun I’ll be happy. I turn 36 this Saturday.
